Dayton student Harley Rose Markus wins Lions Club poster contest

Harley Rose Markus, an eighth grade student at Dayton Intermediate School, won a poster competition sponsored by the Dayton Valley Lions Club. Markus’s poster was among more than 400,000 entries submitted worldwide in the 28th annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest. The poster was selected by the Dayton Valley Lions Club for its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of the contest theme, “Share Peace.” T. Twenty-two entries were submitted locally.

Markus and second place winner, Maile Conner, seventh grade, were honored Nov. 23. A grand prize winner of the international contest will be named in December along with 23 merit award winners.
