79-year-old reportedly victim of ‘road rage’ in Carson City

A 79-year-old man was reportedly the victim of a “road rage” incident Tuesday morning, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office reported.

At about 11:15 a.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a reported reported “road rage” incident at Goni Road and Arrowhead Drive. The 79-year-old victim reported the incident had taken place at about 11 a.m. and the offending person had fired several shots into his vehicle, possibly from a small caliber shoulder fired weapon.

Deputies responded into the area and investigated throughout the day. By 6 p.m., officers identified a vehicle matching the description given by the victim, and had been in the area at the time of the shooting. This evening, the registered owner of the vehicle was located along with a “person of interest” in the shooting. No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.

The victim of this incident has described the shooter as a white male adult wearing a black hoody style outer garment and black jeans, The vehicle was reported to be a brown wagon style SUV and was last seen traveling east on Arrowhead Drive from Goni Road.
