A DCSO officer walks back with the robot that was sent in to the house on Edlesborough Circle during a standoff in Gardnerville Tuesday night.
A woman found dead in her living room on Tuesday night was identified as Gardnerville resident 82-year-old Phyllis Lewis.
Her husband, 86-year-old William Lewis, was in the home at 1471 Edlesborough Circle when deputies found her body, according to Douglas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Pat Brooks.
He’d barricaded himself in the house and was taken away on a gurney after officers learned he was unarmed by sending a robot into the home.
Brooks said an autopsy will be completed on Mrs. Lewis to determine the cause of death.
Mr. Lewis is being treated at a hospital for unspecified medical issues, and is a person of interest in the case.
