Carson Tahoe Sierra Surgery, the boutique elective surgery arm of Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, has once again been recognized with the HealthInsight Hospital Quality Award for delivering top quality care and achieving high levels of patient satisfaction.

Obtaining this prestigious award means Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center’s unique, 15-bed elective surgery unit ranks in or above the 75th percentile of providers in the nation. Performance criteria is based on care quality measures, a record of how often providers give recommended treatments known to produce the best results for patients, and Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), a national, standardized patient satisfaction survey.

“It’s an incredible honor and a tribute to our staff for their consistent dedication to providing exceptional, patient-centered care year after year,” said Ed Epperson, chief executive officer of Carson Tahoe Health. “We’re proud to be recognized by HealthInsight, and most importantly, to be recognized by our patients for the care we deliver day in and day out.”

Research has shown high performance on patients’ experiences goes hand-in-hand with excellent clinical care. Topping the charts for quality outcomes, Carson Tahoe Sierra Surgery is a niche elective surgery destination providing personalized care to patients with specific inpatient and outpatient needs.
