Oral health care, resource fair offered in Carson City

Nevada Health Centers will provide oral health care for children in Carson City next week through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.

Nevada Health Centers staff focuses on treatment, education, prevention and advocacy to children. The care mobile is fully staffed with a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistants and office assistants. Services provided include: Restorative and preventive care, exams, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, fillings, extractions, x-rays, and oral health education. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be parked at Sierra Nevada Health Center located at 3325 Research Way for several days and also at the Carson City Resource Fair, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 6 at Mills Park.

Those wanting to take advantage of this service should call 1-844-227-6867 to make an appointment for one of the following time, dates and locations:

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, Carson City Resource Fair; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 8, Sierra Nevada Health Center; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, Sierra Nevada Health Center.

7:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, Sierra Nevada Health Center; 7:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, Sierra Nevada Health Center.

Most dental insurance plans, Medicaid and Nevada Check-Up will be accepted.

A sliding fee scale will be available for uninsured patients.

RESOURCE FAIR

Carson City Health and Human Services and the University of Nevada, Reno Orvis School of Nursing will host the free Hand-Up Resource Fair.

The fair will feature more than 40 organizations, including Carson Tahoe Health, United Blood Services, Oral Health Nevada, Children and Family Counseling and Partnership Carson City providing information about their services.

There will also be music, a bounce house, refreshments and free food.

The fair is Aug. 6, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mills Park Marv Teixeira Pavilion at 111 E. William St.
