Reno Food Tours celebrates food culture

A new culinary walking tour, Reno Food Tours, is showcasing the best local restaurants and specialty stores the Biggest Little City has to offer. Reno Food Tours will be offering guided tours in the downtown and midtown districts, led by a local expert on an ongoing basis.

The spirit of Reno Food Tours is all about creating adventure off the eaten path. Reno Food Tours aims to attract both visitors to Reno and locals to celebrate the thriving food culture and city attractions.

“It’s not exclusively for foodies” Melissa Smith, Owner, Reno Food Tours, explained in a press release, “it’s for people who love great food and want to learn more about our city’s local restaurants, shops, history, and culture while having fun. Our goal is to showcase some of the amazing local restaurants, artisans, and producers we have in Reno!”

Kicking off on August 17th, guests will be taken to exclusive tastings at six local restaurants and shops where tour guides will highlight points of interest and upcoming events. Weekday tours will begin at 1:30pm, Saturday tours will begin at 11:00am. Tours will run between 2 1/2-3 hours. Tickets are $65 for adults and $45 for children. Vegetarian restrictions can be accommodated

with advance notice. Tickets for the tours can be purchased at www.renofoodwalks.com

All of the Reno Food Tour partners are locally owned businesses who share a passion for creative, fresh, locally sourced food. Tour partners include: SoDo, Liberty Food & Wine Exchange, Great Full Gardens, Wedge Cheese Shop, Wild Garlic Pizza, Old Granite Street Eatery, Noble Pie, Calafuria, SUP, Rawbry, Simple Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Sugar Love.

“It has been a pleasure to work with this energetic, enthusiastic group of entrepreneurs who care deeply about the quality of their ingredients and every aspect of their food. Learning about them, their families and their businesses first hand has been an amazing part of developing our tour.” Smith said.
