Charter partners with Rebuilding Together to help Reno homeowners

Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) volunteers will be in Reno this Saturday, August 27, to help renovate the home of a person in need. The project is part of the company’s national philanthropic initiative, Charter our Community, a program that seeks to improve 25,000 homes in the Charter footprint by 2020.

Charter volunteers will begin work at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at a home on Quail Run Road and will continue working through the afternoon.

Charter’s national initiative is in partnership with Rebuilding Together and aims to provide critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and safety and energy-efficient upgrades to strengthen communities. In Reno, Charter is partnering with the Rebuilding Together Sacramento affiliate. The company is providing a financial contribution and more than 30 employee volunteers to work alongside other Rebuilding Together volunteers to make essential repairs.

“We know the importance of a safe and healthy home and want to do what we can to help others in the communities in which we live and work,” said Chris Hinzmann, Charter’s area vice president in a press release. “That’s why we’re so excited to bring the national Charter our Community program to Reno and thrilled to work alongside the talented team at Rebuilding Together.”

Charter’s program has been implemented across the company’s national footprint. The program is anchored by an online hub that features inspirational stories of impact, homeowner resources, education and activities that will help people maintain safe and healthy homes. Since launching in late 2014, the program has helped improve more than 5,700 homes.
