Faith & Insight: Never give up

Have you ever thought about giving up? Hey, you’re not alone. I think we all have moments of weakness in which we feel like we can’t go on. I know I have. There really is only one reason I’m still standing strong today.

The reason I don’t give up is God continues to encourage me.

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:28-31

If it was up to me I would have given up a long time ago, but God continues to strengthen me. You know the same power Jesus had to heal and comfort the afflicted of the first century, the same power he used to raise Lazarus from the dead, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead; we have access to the power! That power is in you and me as believers.

God has made promises throughout scripture he will never leave us or forsake us. He will comfort us and encourage us. We’re never alone! Even late at night when we can’t sleep and we’re thinking about giving up, God is there. When we sit in the parking lot afraid to start the day at work, God is there. He’s with us. He’s there hoping we call out to him. All we need to do is call out to the Lord and he answers. He will give us the strength to get through the day.

With God we can do this. Whatever it is God is here to get us through it. We all have our own personal struggles to get through and when we do the reward is priceless. It will be worth the struggle.

As we move forward this coming week let’s remember we’re not alone and with God all things are possible. There are people depending on you and on me to stay strong. We can do this. Never give up!
