Nevada State Railroad Museum is city’s treasure

I have loved trains all of my life

The beautiful black engine

The whistle at night.

This is about our Railroad Museum.

In other words,

Yes, jump on board

It will be your carpe diem.

Dan Thielen is the director

But Adam took me about.

Described it as the most fun 11 acres

And I know there’s no doubt.

They have the “Glenbrook”

And the “Inyo No. 22,”

Both from 1875

And fully operable too.

These trains took 34 years to restore

Trimmed in gold leaf

Hand painted and adored.

The purpose is clear

To preserve and restore

With great skill they now operate.

Who could want more?

Santa Train, Harvest Train the 4th of July

Provide family fun

When the train wheels go by.

There are 60 pieces of rolling stock

The McKeen motor car

Is an historic landmark.

I must mention

There are hundreds of volunteers

An award winning restoration shop

Keeps it running in full gear.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum

It’s history of our past

Come check it out

Make your train memories last.
