A Wild Women Sisterhood was the theme for the Soroptimist International of Carson City’s recent installation of officers.

Those elected to serve for the upcoming year are President Jean Bondiett, President-Elect Jennifer Rust, Treasurer Arlene Gleich, Assistant Treasurers Charlene Spinner and Pat Riggs, Secretaries Didi Chaney and Cynthia Bunt, and Directors Ada White and Karen Hoppe.

The Club is beginning its 60th year of service in the Carson City community. It’s dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through programs of social and economic empowerment. Its Stroke to Help Golf Tournament, coming up in August, raises funds for breast cancer biopsies, multiple scholarships awarded each year to local girls and thousands of dollars in funds given to local charities.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevada (VARN) are just a couple of the programs initiated by Carson City Soroptimist that have since found a life of their own.
