My very first adventure
On the column, that I have
Going to the Governor’s Mansion
Can’t be very bad!
I was happy to attend
The Annual Pink Tea
Held at the Governor’s Mansion
By the Nevada Women’s History Project
The Pink Tea social
Was a “thank you”
For the right to vote.
Women’s suffrage came about
With these gatherings,
Please take note.
The attire, it was period,
But not required.
The women all looked lovely
In their attire.
The silver service
Was obvious
As the tea was served
Canapés and petit fours
And little hors d’oeuvres.
It’s nice to know our women’s history
Is being preserved.
Young chautauquans
With their biographies
Present a fascinating world.
