Taking the plunge for the Special Olympics

For the 12th straight year since the event began, Ted Rupert, general manager of Rupert’s Auto Body, has taken the plunge into Lake Tahoe to raise money for Special Olympics.

Rupert had most of his family participating with him on Saturday when they took the plunge.

While he said the weather was nicer than other years, it was still cold. Rupert and family collected about $2,8000.

The annual South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge supports Special Olympics in Northern California and Nevada for the intellectually disabled.
