Carson City road report for May 9-15

The following information applies to the period of May 9-15.

Work will continue on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. For details regarding traffic impacts from the Downtown Carson Street project, refer to the Cone Zone in the Nevada Appeal, or go to www.carsonproud.com. These sources are updated weekly throughout the duration of the project.

Lane closures with flagger controlled traffic are planned from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the following locations due to utility/road work:

Center Drive south of Clear Creek Avenue to Topsy Lane on weekdays

Wilma Way on Monday

Simons Court and Evergreen Drive on Tuesday through Thursday

The northbound left turn lane will be closed on Wednesday at the Carson Street and Hot Springs Road intersection

Road closures are expected at the following locations due to utility/road work. Drivers are asked to follow detours:

Division Street between Fleischmann Way and Long Street from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays

Long Street between Division and Mountain streets from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday

Topsy Lane between Center Drive and Lyla Lane for all hours on Monday through Sunday; local traffic only

Race Track Road between Bigelow and Schulz drives for all hours on Monday through Sunday; local traffic only

Snyder Avenue between Ponderosa and Bigelow drives from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday

Northbound U.S. 395 lanes between Clear Creek and Snyder avenues will be reduced from three lanes to two until May 13.

Periodic nighttime lane and ramp closures will take place on southbound I-580 and alternate U.S. 395 in southern Washoe Valley throughout the summer, including the northbound and southbound ramp closures for Bellevue Bridge and southbound ramp closures south of Eastlake Boulevard.
