Rancharrah opens its new Information Pavilion to the public and launches its first membership opportunity to The Club at Rancharrah, Thursday, Nov. 3. The Pavilion is a part of the 141-acre community being developed by Reno Land Inc. (RLI), transforming the legacy of the Harrah Estate into a private community of residential villages, shops and restaurants.
“The Harrah Family has left one of the most profound and influential legacies in Reno,” said Chip Bowlby, managing partner of Reno Land Inc in a press release. “The Information Pavilion showcases the success and life of the Harrah family, and provides an opportunity for guests to both celebrate the rich history and learn more about the new vision for Rancharrah.”
The 7,000 square-foot Information Pavilion, located at the front entrance of Rancharrah off Talbot Lane, includes a tribute to Bill Harrah’s life, from his start in Reno with a bingo parlor, to the establishment of Harrah’s Casino and the creation of his world renowned auto collection, to the development of his “Gentleman’s Ranch.” On display is a 1936 Mercedes-Benz on loan from the National Automobile Museum that was part of Bill Harrah’s world-famous collection. The Pavilion showcases the lifestyle of the Club and community with a cappuccino bar and patio, fireplace, barbecue and bocci ball court and will provide information about Rancharrah’s upcoming residential, retail and commercial developments and Club membership. The Information Pavilion will be open to the public, Thur. - Sun., 10 a.m. - 6 p.m, (beginning this Saturday) or by appointment.
“Rancharrah has been privately-owned by the Harrah family for over 60 years and will now be accessible to everyone for their own residence or club membership,” said Bowlby. “We welcome those who are interested in learning more about the Club or living at Rancharrah to visit us at the Pavilion.”
Plans for the 30,000-square-foot private Club and former Harrah Mansion include dining, fitness facilities, pools and tennis courts. It will serve as the social and recreational centerpiece where members can gather with family and friends.
Architect John Sather of Swaback Partners, the architect of the Club at Martis Camp, leads the design team.
“The existing Mansion at Rancharrah provides one of the most unique opportunities I have ever seen as an architect. The property has great history, and the mansion is truly unique, said Sather. “Our goal is to stand on the shoulders of history, re-envisioning it into a Club that provides the amenities desired by today’s members.”
Membership in the Club provides exclusive access to the Clubhouse and its associated activities and events. Preliminary membership reservations are now open for 250 non-residents to take a risk-free look at the Club before official commitment.

Rancharrah is a 141-acre historical property in the heart of south Reno, founded and owned by the Harrah Family from 1957-2015. Original structures include the 30,000-square-foot Harrah Mansion, 52,000-square-foot climate controlled Equestrian Center and 7,000-square-foot Information Pavilion.
