Change is the theme for the Northern Nevada Business Summit Oct. 20

The Chamber of Reno Sparks Northern Nevada will present the Northern Nevada Business Summit from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20 in the Rose Ballroom at the Nugget Resort in Sparks.

Last year attracted 450 people to the inaugural event. This year, the chamber is expecting to see about 500 people.

The theme for the 2016 event is Cultivating Change and speakers will present information on Cultivating Company Change, Cultivating Personal Change, and Cultivating Community Change, during six educational breakout sessions that will benefit all levels of business leadership.

The chamber “felt like the word change has been all we’ve been hearing about for the last 18 months,” said Joy Heuer, chief executive officer at the chamber. “Change is good and necessary and how can we be flexible through the change and come out better on the other end?”

The Summit includes a trade show with about 100 booths featuring businesses from northern Nevada showcasing the latest in cutting edge products and services, local vendors, and tools needed to grow businesses.

Taste of Northern Nevada Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. opens the special features of the Summit with samples from 10 chamber members in the food industry serving a variety of dishes.

The Alive After 5 networking mixer from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. closes the day.

The schedule of speakers, all local experts, for the educational breakout session is:
