Brian Crane, the Sparks cartoonist who draws the comic strip “Pickles,” is sharing top honors as the 2013 Reuben Cartoonist of the Year.
He shares the honor, the highest bestowed by the National Cartoonists Society, with Rick Kirkman, one of the creators of the syndicated cartoon, “Baby Blues.”
Crane’s strip is syndicated in more than 800 newspapers, and collections of his work are published by Baobab Press, the publishing house of Sundance Books and Music in Reno.
