The Nevada State Contractors Board cited eight contractors after a sting operation in Sparks.

Nathaniel J. McVay had his licenses surrendered by the board. McVay was charged with contracting and advertising without a license. He was targeted after his advertisement was found on the Internet and an electronic bulletin board.

Martin Nava had his license cancelled by the board. Nava, who did business as Iron Granite, was cited after receiving a workmanship complaint from a homeowner and found to be contracting without a license.

Carlos Lopez-Hernandez was cited for contracting and advertising without a license. Investigators found his business card advertising services for water features, driveways, patios, irrigation designs, retaining walls, and paving stones on a local bulletin board. Lopez-Hernandez allegedly provided a bid of $2,555 for a paver project.

Robert Kilcourse, David Marr, Mark Owens, and Andrew Stading were all cited and charged with advertising and contracting without a license.

David Turner was charged with contracting without a license.
