Mary Laub will begin a 60-day detail as Bureau of Land Management associate district manager in Carson City.

Laub currently serves as the BLM’s Nevada state budget officer. She previously worked at the Eldorado National Forest Budget Officer in Placerville, Calif., as well as director of resource management at George C. Marshall Center for European Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany, and at a security training center for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics states. She held financial management positions in eight agencies stateside and overseas to include Army and Air Force appropriated fund and non-appropriated fund, General Services Administration, Department of Defense Dependent Schools, Defense Security Cooperation Agency, US Forest Service. She also served as an Air Force pilot and as a pilot’s instructor.

Laub earned a master’s of business administration and a bachelor’s of arts degree in physics.

William Mack, Jr. will step in as acting the BLM’s Winnemucca district manager, replacing Robert Towne, who will retire.

Mack Jr. has served as the Black Rock field office manager since 2014. He also worked for BLM’s Wyoming High Desert District as the AFM Mineral for the Kemmerer field office.
