Carson City Sheriff's Office K9 and SWAT officers prepare to infultrate a building to look for a barricaded suspect during a training held Wednesday afternoon.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit held their monthly training Wednesday with members of the SWAT team in order to improve their collaboration tactics for real life scenarios. The teams trained at the old Boys and Girls Clubs facilities on 5th Street to have the dogs and officers go through building searches for decoy suspects.

“We are just thankful for the generosity of the community because that is what allows us to continue to train our dogs and officers to them safe in the field,” said K9 Sgt. Craig Lowe.
