SBA honors Nevada Small Businesses

Each year since 1963, the president has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week. This year, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Vegas PBS is recognizing Nevada’s outstanding entrepreneurs during the 2017 SBA National Small Business Week luncheon held on May 4, 2017 at the Gold Coast Hotel in Las Vegas. Small businesses from throughout the state of Nevada are being honored for their impact on the small business community.  “National Small Business Week provides an opportunity for us to honor our local entrepreneurs for their hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to community,” said Nevada District Office, Acting District Director, Ben Raju. “The honorees are prime examples of Nevada’s ingenuity and embodies the spirit of why we celebrate National Small Business Week,” said Raju. Honorees include: Nevada Small Business Person of the Year: Dr. Eva Littman, Owner, Littman Medical Services, PC (dba Red Rock Fertility and Sunset Surgery Center, LLC). Minority Owned Business of the Year: Rene Boyce, President and CEO, My Next Career Path Staffing, Las Vegas; Woman Owned Business of the Year: Ginnie Salazar, Executive Director, Logistical Solutions, LLC, Las Vegas; Family Owned Business of the Year: Abbi and Patrick Whitaker, Owners, The Abbi Agency, Reno; Microenterprise Business of the Year: Timothy and Randi Reed, Owners, Haus of Reed, Sparks; Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Bryan and Megan Bedera, Owners, Amplify Relations, Reno; 8(a) Graduate of the Year: Jeremy Westmark, President The Westmark Group About the U.S. Small Business Administration The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created in 1953 and since January 13, 2012, has served as a Cabinet-level agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen  the overall economy of our nation.  The SBA helps Americans start, build and grow businesses.  Through an extensive network of field offices and partnerships with public and private organizations, the SBA delivers it services to people throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam.
