Prayer works! I truly believe I’m walking with the Lord today because someone prayed for me. I also have prayed for people and have seen miracles and I don’t believe they would have happened if no one prayed.
Studies have proven conclusively prayer can prevent people from getting sick — and when they do get sick, prayer can help them get better faster.
If prayer can help individuals, do you believe it can help our city? What about our state or our country? I do!
I believe in miracles through the power of prayer. Jesus said anything we ask for in his name will be granted to us. That’s a lot of power handed to us as Christians. It’s also a great deal of responsibility. We have complete and total access to the creator of the universe and he wants us to seek him and ask for his help and guidance.
May 4 is just a little more than a week from today, at 11 a.m. we will be gathering at the state Capitol for National Day of Prayer.
This is the once-a-year opportunity we have to gather together throughout the nation and pray. There truly is no better opportunity through the year for believers, to gather together, and seek God, and petition him on behalf of our families, our churches, our city, state and our nation.
Many churches take part in this event, but there are some churches who may not have heard about it. I want to encourage you to join us at the Capitol on May 4. Talk to your pastor and help him or her organize your church to take part in this opportunity. Talk to your employer about taking an extended lunch for that day. Come pray with us as we seek God’s face, united in Christ, many different traditions, but one Lord.
