Deputy Matt Smith gets promoted to sergeant with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office as his wife Yolanda pins on his badge Monday and New Carson City Deputy Jeremy Banfield is given the oath of office from Sheriff Ken Furlong as his family participates. Banfield is Carson City’s newest deputy, coming to the agency from Nevada Highway Patrol.
