Veteran-owned APS Group, Inc. purchases building

RENO — APS Group, Inc., a general contracting company serving Washoe County, Lyon County and Carson County, has purchased a building at 681 Watson Way in Sparks to serve as the company’s new headquarters.

Nevada State Development Corporation, the state’s largest SBA 504 loan provider, assisted with financing for the $630,000 project in partnership with Heritage Bank of Nevada. As a veteran, Worsham was able to receive a refund of hundreds of dollars on closing costs as a result of the Vet Advantage Program.

APS Group, which specializes in residential and small commercial contracting, was founded by Roger Worsham in 2007 and is 100 percent veteran-owned. After establishing the firm as a sole proprietor, Worsham incorporated the business in 2013. APS Group also holds licenses in fencing and guardrails, plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, concrete contracting, landscape contracting, and masonry.

“We’ve been able to build a strong business with clients by offering such a broad diversity of building disciplines,” Worsham said in a press release. “There simply isn’t any general contractor that can complete the scope of work that our team can. The new building will allow us to consolidate operations while enhancing our reputation as a one-stop shop with all of our key customers, including homeowners associations.”

As the business grew, APS Group expanded into three separate locations, all of which were leased. The new headquarters in Sparks will improve efficiency and provide plenty of space to accommodate future growth, according to Worsham.

“It was clear that the constraints of the APS Group offices were affecting their business operations,” said Greg McKay, senior vice president/loan Production manager for Nevada State Development Corporation in a press release. “Their new property, which covers 7,320 square feet, represents a sizable increase beyond the total square footage of their combined current locations. This will allow them to consolidate their business, consolidate their monthly payments, and allow them to build equity in the coming years.”
