The Popcorn Stand: Here’s hoping Bieber can perform ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’’

First Winnie-the-Pooh. Now Justin Bieber.

I wrote a couple of days ago how outraged I was with China banning Winnie-the-Pooh from social media. Apparently too many people were having too much fun comparing Winnie-the-Pooh to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Now China has banned Justin Bieber from performing because of his “bad behavior” on and off the stage. Unlike my reaction to the banning of Winnie-the-Pooh, my first reaction to this news was what took China so long? I’m not condoning China banning Bieber, but did the country just find out about his “bad behavior”?

The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture said the ban was necessary to “purify” the country’s entertainment industry but suggested it was not permanent, so apparently China does have the spirit of forgiveness. I hope China is just as forgiving with Winnie-the-Pooh.

To me, Bieber is just a male Miley Cyrus. Both were and still are amazingly talented musicians. There was a time when this old fuddy, duddy actually liked Miley Cyrus until she decided to become whatever it is she’s decided to become.

Makes me wonder why China hasn’t banned her. My hope is one day she’ll figure it out and she’ll just go back to being the amazing singer and musician she was once.

As far as Bieber, never paid much attention to him except to watch him for a few minutes once before he went off the rails and like I said I was really impressed with his talent.

Maybe one day, Bieber will, too, clean up his act to the point in which he can perform ‘Ain’t Misbehavin.” In China.
