Employees of the Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus will now have more convenient access to healthcare.

The Eldorado Resorts, Inc., the parent company of the three casino-resorts, hosted a ribbon cutting on May 23 for its new Family Medical Clinic. The clinic was launched through a partnership with Activate Healthcare.

“We will provide access to general healthcare for thousands of insured team members at the Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus,” Gregg Carano, senior vice president of food and beverage at Eldorado Resorts, Inc. and general manager of Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in Chester, W. Va., said at the event.

The new 4,450-square-foot medical clinic is located within the Circus Circus on the corner of 6th and West streets in downtown Reno. The space previously served as the human resource department for Circus Circus. The newly renovated facility includes three exam rooms, a pharmacy and a patient resource center.

“This is just one more step to a healthy community for northern Nevada,” Cindy Carano, executive director of community relations at Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus Reno, said.

According to Cindy Carano, the three Reno properties employ approximately 4,000 employees. Two-thirds of those employees, totaling around 2,500 people, are covered by their healthcare as some of the employees are part-time or have health insurance through other family members. Insured employees and their dependents over the age of three will receive free doctor visits, physicals, lab work, annual wellness checks, flu shots and more.

The Family Medical Center is the only on site medical clinic at a northern Nevada resort-casino and is the first medical clinic within the Eldorado Resorts, Inc. locations.

Dr. Kori Singleton will head up the new medical clinic along with a nurse practitioner, a nurse and two medical assistants.

“I am honored to work with a team of visionaries and leaders, and to experience the evolution of the Eldorado Resorts, Inc.,” said Dr. Singleton said in a press release. “The clinic is a vital step toward a stronger workforce, and an advanced move in the corporate health world.”

The clinic will officially open Tuesday, May 30. It will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

Don Carano founded the Eldorado Hotel and Casino in Reno in 1973. The company acquired Circus Circus and Silver Legacy in 2015 and today, Eldorado Resorts, Inc. owns and operates 20 hotel-casinos in 10 states across the country.

“But it is very important to us that we remember our roots here in northern Nevada,” Gregg Carano said.

The Family Medical Clinic is part of a more than $50 million of renovations to the Eldorado, Sliver Legacy and Circus Circus properties, which started in the fourth quarter of 2016. These renovations include new rooms, restaurants, entertainment and more. Renovations are expected to be complete within the next two years.
