NNBW: Tell us about your business and some of the most important services you provide? Clark: Our primary focus is the practice of government affairs at every level of government with an emphasis on community and public relations. We are lobbyists and we represent our clients before federal, state and local government entities. We also engage with the regulatory bodies that are responsible for interpreting and carrying out the laws that are passed by the elected officials. The team works closely with local government officials in urban and rural communities throughout the state. We utilize community and public relations strategies to tell our clients stories, educate the public about critical issues and support their brand and mission. We stay ahead of the game, build and maintain strong relationships and bring vast knowledge and expertise to every issue, every client we represent.
NNBW: What are some of the key things your business does to ensure premium levels of customer service? Clark: Our philosophy toward client service relies on a simple idea that permeates everything we do: Know the client and the industry; understand the past and prepare for the future; develop comprehensive strategies; be flexible; implement. This philosophy governs how we approach every client whether it be lobbying on their behalf or a comprehensive community campaign. Honesty and integrity are integral to our success. We must be straightforward with our clients just as we are with our audiences. We refuse to make promises we can’t keep, and we are honest with the outcome — good, bad or indifferent. Clark: Three of the four members of the Tom Clark Solutions team graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno. Three of the four are native Nevadans, the fourth has been here since infancy. We choose to stay here, live here, work and raise our families here. We love this state, we love Northern Nevada. Northern Nevada is the combination of beautiful landscapes, a strong sense of community and a quality of life that is as good as you can imagine and accomplish. Our clients love it too. They come to visit the community, play among our places and accomplish their objectives. Proximity to the state Capitol, Carson City, is pretty cool. NNBW: As a local business, why do you feel it’s important to give back to the community? Clark: Because the community gives a lot back to us. Community service is very important to the team, individually and collectively. We serve on several non-profit boards and support organizations like the Nevada Outdoor Business Coalition, the Nevada Military Support Alliance, Nevada Bighorns Unlimited the Nevada Preservation Foundation, and the Friends of Black Rock High Rock, to name a few. We know that we bring unique skills to each organization we serve and our support helps to further their mission and bring resources to the people and issues they serve. As a company we support many organizations that help people who are less fortunate knowing that a little kindness can go a long way to better their quality of life.
