The Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s Breakfast & Business networking events return this week featuring a discussion on the state of construction and development in Northern Nevada.

The event from 7-9 a.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa includes breakfast for all attendees, followed by an expert panel discussion to be moderated by Dan Morgan, CEO of The Builders Association of Northern Nevada. Panelists include:

While the future looks bright in some aspects for the industry, it is not without challenges, especially as the region recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic’s economic impacts. With that in mind, panelists are expected to cover several important topics, such as:

  • how the construction industry is rebounding from the pandemic and what the outlook looks like for summer 2021 and beyond,
  • how supply chain issues, labor shortages and increased pricing on lumber and other materials are impacting timelines for commercial and residential projects,
  • how Northern Nevada’s booming population growth — both pre- and post-pandemic — in part due to the continuing California exodus is putting pressure on developers; and
  • how the region’s red-hot housing market is influencing both the region’s economic profile and builders’ ability to pump out affordable homes.

The Builders Association of Northern Nevada is the Platinum Sponsor for the July 8 event. Meadows Bank and Helix Electric are Gold sponsors, and Step2 Reno will be the featured nonprofit.

Tickets cost $25 per person, plus fees, or $160 for a table of 8. Go here to buy tickets and learn more.
