People: Snell & Wilmer's Peterson, Fugazzi honored with 'Super Lawyer' status

Snell & Wilmer announced recently that 16 attorneys in its Nevada offices have been selected for inclusion in the 2021 Mountain States Super Lawyers issue, including five in “Super Lawyer” status and 11 as a “Rising Star.”

According to a July 15 press release, of Snell & Wilmer’s Super Lawyers this year, two are based in Reno: William E. Peterson (Civil Litigation: Defense) and Alexander L. Fugazzi (Business Litigation).


Peterson, a partner with the firm, has been a commercial, administrative and personal injury litigator for over 30 years. He previously spent 10 years as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Sierra Resources (now NV Energy), Nevada Power Company and Sierra Pacific Power Company.


In 2018, Peterson was honored by the State Bar of Nevada as the recipient of the Presidential Award. He also serves as a member of Judiciary Committee of American College of Trial Lawyers. He received his J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.


Fugazzi, administrative partner with the firm’s the Reno and Las Vegas offices, is a civil litigator representing businesses in state and federal courts, arbitration and on appeal. He previously was litigation practice group leader and loss prevention partner from 2012-19 at Snell & Wilmer. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan.


Super Lawyers 
selects nominees from a peer-nominated, national list of more than 200,000 attorneys. Nominations undergo an evaluation process by a highly credentialed panel of attorneys. Only 5% of those nominated achieve “Super Lawyer” status.
