Lyon County’s third cannabis dispensary opens in Mound House

Northern Nevada’s newest cannabis dispensary, Battle Born Dispensary, hosted a grand opening on Nov. 10 with Lyon County Commissioners Wes Henderson and Ken Gray in attendance, according to a news release.

Battle Born Dispensary is located at 10115 U.S. Highway 50 East in Mound House, on the corner of Highway 50 and Kit Kat Drive.

The 4,800-square-foot facility has been through a complete renovation and remodel to accommodate state and county requirements for marijuana establishments, according to the release.

Russ and Ashley Ernst, owners of Battle Born Dispensary, were among the first growers approved by the state and started their cannabis farm High Sierra Holistics in Reno where they’ve been producing and selling product statewide for five years.

According to Lyon County records, commissioners first approved the business in late 2019; this May, the Mound House Advisory Board OK'd its conditional use permit.

It marks the third cannabis dispensary to open in the county, in addition to Silver State Relief in Fernley and the Yerington Paiute Tribe’s Pesha’ Numma Dispensary in Yerington.

With a staff of roughly 20 employees, Battle Born Dispensary is open daily from 9 a.m to 8:30 p.m., with curbside service available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
