Are we ready for the future of transportation and an electrification infrastructure?

While we now have a multi-state agreement that accelerates Nevada’s adoption of electric medium and heavy-weight vehicles, we have considerable challenges ahead to ensure our businesses and residents are prepared

for vastly different transportation needs.

Before we know it, the mass adoption of EV’s will completely redefine how people, goods, and services move through our economy.

As other countries have already discovered, EV’s are improving ground transport, introducing more energy-efficient vehicles, cutting foreign dependence on volatile and expensive gas prices, and saving businesses and drivers money on fuel and routine maintenance.

Our Nevada businesses cannot afford to be behind the curve as innovations rapidly occur since we have all the parts we need to make us a global leader in EV supply chain manufacturing and capital investments.

This is why the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce has launched its Green Business Certification Program and will soon introduce its Green Dining Establishment Program.

We strive to recognize Chamber members and local leaders in cleantech and sustainability industries that will provide the resources needed to embrace technology and sustainable business practices. But more must be done to advocate in Congress for economic policies that identify electrification opportunities and attract long-term community investments to the Silver State.

That’s why the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce is working with the Electrification Coalition and greenUP! to prompt our elected leaders to make Nevada future-ready by planning, investing and embracing the solutions we need for our future’s robust and sustainable economy.
