SilverSummit Healthplan announced Dr. Steven Evans has been appointed as SilverSummit Healthplan’s chief medical officer.
Most recently, Evans served as the vice president of quality and utilization management as well as pharmacy director for Intermountain Healthcare in Las Vegas, where he oversaw strategic planning and implementation of medical management for the organization, including expense management, utilization management, remote patient monitoring, research, and other clinical programs. He was also responsible for the clinical and technical functions for pharmacy services for Intermountain Nevada. Prior to this, Evans served as chief medical officer at United Healthcare, Nevada.
In 1985, Evans graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from the University of Southern California. In 1989, he graduated as valedictorian from the University of California, Los Angeles Medical School and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center in 1993. Evans is an American board-certified anesthesiologist and has been published multiple times in various medical journals.
