Gov. Steve Sisolak on Tuesday announced the creation of a workforce development sub-cabinet to study workforce needs and recommend ways to help Nevadans find the work they want and businesses to find the workers they need.
The core of the group is six members of his existing cabinet: Crystal Abba of the Nevada System of Higher Education; Michael Brown, head of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development; Education Superintendent Jhone Ebert; Isla Young who heads the office of Workforce Innovation; and Fred Wagar, the newly-appointed director of the Department of Veterans Services.
