NAIOP Northern Nevada is pleased to announce member Matt Harris was named small-chapter volunteer of the year at the 2022 NAIOP Chapter Merit Awards.
Recipients of the awards are selected by a committee of their peers who serve as volunteer judges. As vice president of the Industrial Division for Avison Young, Harris has been an active member of NAIOP Northern Nevada since 2014.
He has served two three-year terms on the NAIOP Northern Nevada Board of Directors and led the chapter as president of the board in 2019. In 2021, he transitioned to a seat on NAIOPs National Board of Directors. He is also chair of the Government Affairs Committee.
In his time with the chapter, Harris held many different volunteer positions, initiated several profitable and charitable annual events, and has been instrumental in the growth and success of the chapter.
Harris currently co-chairs the CREW-NAIOP Charity Golf Tournament committee. He chaired the Summit Awards committee from 2016-19, where he oversaw operations for the annual gala of 400-plus attendees. He has also led the committee responsible for hosting the annual CRE Industry Holiday party with four other trade associations.
