People: Hot August Nights announces new board members

Hot August Nights announces new board members, promoted staff and new committee chairs.

New to the board of directors is Les Stuart, owner and founder of Big Daddy's Motor Cars.

Stuart credits the founding of his company to Hot August Nights where he started as an attendee, then a participant and now a sponsor. He brings a wealth of Fortune 100 technology acumen to his company and now to Hot August Nights.

Returning to the board of directors is Russ Sheltra, founder and owner of Bonanza Casino. Sheltra previously served on the board from 2014 to 2017 and is eager to rejoin as an active participant to increase the opportunities for event growth while benefiting the regional tourism economy.

Michelle Romero has been promoted to office staff manager. Romero will oversee staff administrative duties and is responsible for managing the member services and event series and awards committees. Romero has been employed with Hot August Nights since April.

Jennifer Harshbarger has been hired as the finance and business development manager.

Harshbarger brings a wide range of experience in accounting, human resources, business management, operations, and sales to the organization.

In addition, three new committee chairs have been named: Dave Schnepp will serve as chairman of the Drag Races committee, Kandee Chaney will chair The Garage Committee, and Marcia Basso will serve as chair for the apparel and merchandise committee.

Schnepp, Chaney and Basso have all been long-time volunteers for Hot August Nights.
