Carson Antiques and Collectibles Mall owner George Alm said the business’ new location at 1831 N. Carson St., has filled a void in the community. The building once housed Grocery Outlet before becoming vacant.

“We’re happy to be involved in the community,” Alm said Tuesday. “We believe this part of town is going to start growing in a positive way.”

The business moved from a storefront farther north at the beginning of May.

The relocation more than doubled the space of the mall. Now, with more than 21,000 square feet and more than 50 vendors, customers can browse indoor aisles and find antiques, collectibles and home décor items embodying a variety of eras.

Alm said the mall’s vendors come from all over the region. During the move, their cars and houses and bedrooms were brimming with merchandise.

“These people were ready to move in,” he said. “They’re going to auctions and estate sales. They’re going online. They try to find the very best.”

Regular business hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For information, visit Carson Antiques and Collectibles Mall on Facebook, email RadioTahoe@yahoo.com or call at 775-461-3142.
