High Sierra Radio Control Club to hold open house

The annual Open House of the High Sierra Radio Control Club will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the club field off Flint Drive in east Carson City (Dump Hill).

There will be flight demonstrations of model old-timer airplanes, modern military aircraft, trainers and racers. There will be several trainers connected to "buddy boxes" to give novices an opportunity to fly the airplanes. In addition, a barbecue lunch will be served by the "Skunk Works" for a small donation.

This provides a great opportunity for parents to introduce their children to the wonders of flight. School-aged children will have the opportunity to actually fly the airplanes. Bring video and still cameras, there will be some spectacular airplanes and flying to photograph.

There will be signs directing the public to the radio controlled model airplane field. For information, call 883-3111.
