Letter: Tuesday at Third will keep getting bigger

We would first like to thank all the Carson City area and surrounding participants for the support that Tuesdays @ 3rd received for a first-year event. We will expand this event in the years ahead.

Remember six years ago, Bob McFadden started The Farmers Market by closing Third Street with six booths and not any weekly entertainment, and look what the Farmers Market grew to be now. Located at the Pavilion, they are an excellent produce store. It's clean and easy to find any type of produce one could need.

Our event will grow into a courtly fair, a social event with weekly entertainment. We, who put on this event this year, have learned that we have to be a certified market to attract more vendors. This summer we had trouble attracting creative crafters and produce growers due to the fact that we are not a certified market. So next year being a certified market, you will have more to choose from.

Next summer, Mom & Pop's and other charities will put on the first Chile & Rib Cook Off and continue our Third Street events.

Once again, thank you for your support. On Friday night, Sept. 15, we will say thank you to Carson City with a street party on Third Street with a band, a car club and a BBQ on the street.
