Obituary: Ruth Genevieve Helm

Ruth Genevieve Helm, 82, a Sacramento, Calif,. resident for the past 49 years died Aug. 12, 2000 in Carmichael, Calif. She was born July 21, 1918, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Howard T. and Katherine Sawter Dielman.

She married John Helm Oct. 4, 1941, in Mishawaka. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1981, in Sacramento.

Mrs. Helm was retired from the San Juan Unified School District. She was a volunteer for the Lutheran Braille Workers and was a member of the L.S.S. at Ascension Lutheran Church. She enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. She was an avid S.F. Giants fan and before that she was one of those die-hard Cubbie fans. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Among her survivors are her daughter Kathi Houk of Carson City; son Robert Helm of Texas City, Texas; brother Howard Dielmann of Brea, Calif.; granddaughters Denise Perry and Dusti Houk and grandson William Houk II, all of Carson City; great-granddaughters, Breann and Michelle Perry and six nieces and two nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento.
