Guilty plea entered in property theft

A 21-year-old Brookings, Ore., man pleaded guilty in district court Tuesday to possessing property stolen during an October party.

Steven Michael Kinford, 21, said he was not involved in the theft but admitted that the property was in the back of his truck.

Kinford faces a maximum of five years in prison and $5,000 fine because the property was valued in excess of $250. He is scheduled for sentencing Feb. 15.
