Obituary: George Kerr

A Mass for George Thomas Kerr Jr., 82, a Sparks resident for the past 44 years, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Teresa the Little Flower Church in Reno.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary, 2155 Kietzke Lane in Reno. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary.

Mr. Kerr died Oct. 20, 1999, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born Sept. 8, 1917, in San Jose, Calif., to George and Anna Kerr Sr.

Prior to living in Sparks he resided in California.

Mr. Kerr was a photographer, newspaper columnist and teacher.

He was a member of the Washoe Zephyr Toastmasters, G.O.D. (Good Old Days) Club and the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Kerr was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Teresa's the Little Flower Church.

Among his survivors are his wife, Marguerite Kerr of Sparks; sons, George Kerr III of Reno, and Vance Kerr of Chico, Calif.; daughters, Denise Garrick of Washoe Valley and Adrienne Reinhardt of Carson City, 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be private.

Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
