Obituary: Jack A. Penman

A funeral for Jack A. Penman, 75, a Washoe Valley resident for 20 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at O'Brien-Rogers & Crosby Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at O'Brien-Rogers & Crosby.

Mr. Penman died Jan. 16, 2000, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Phoenix, Ore., to John W. and Adelaide Geraldo Penman.

Before moving to Washoe Valley he lived in Reno for 55 years.

Mr. Penman worked for the state of Nevada and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Sparks, VFW 9211 in Reno and Knights of Columbus Counsel 978 in Reno. He was Catholic and a member of the Holy Spirit Mission Church in Washoe Valley.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Adele Willaman, November 1999.

Among his survivors are his wife, Mary Tarin Penman; son Richard and daughter Judi, all of Washoe Valley; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery following the service.
