Obituary: James Hussman

A funeral for James Alden Hussman, 79, a lifetime Gardnerville resident, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville with the Rev. Pete Nelson officiating.

Mr. Hussman died Dec. 16, 1999 at his residence. He was born Dec. 19, 1919 in Gardnerville to George Hussman and Ruth Williams Hussman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn L. Hussman, May 28, 1996, in Gardnerville, and his brother, George Hussman.

Mr. Hussman was a Carson Valley rancher. He donated the land for the Carson Valley Food Closet and Family Support Council building.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, fishing and hunting. He was named Cooperator of the Year in 1988 for the Carson Valley Conservation District.

Mr. Hussman was a member of the Alpine Land and Reservoir Co.; the Douglas County ASC Committee; the Carson Valley Conservation District; the Nevada Cattlemen's Association; the National Cattlemen's Association and the Minden Milling Co.

He was a member of the Carson Valley United Methodist Church.

Among his survivors are his son, David A. Hussman, and grandson, Beau Valory, both of Gardnerville.

Interment will be at Garden Cemetery in Gardnerville.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
