Obituary: Robert Stevenson "Bob" nesbitt

A memorial service for Robert Stevenson "Bob" Nesbitt, 68, a Nampa, Idaho, resident for the past four years, will be 1 p.m. today at Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa.

Mr. Nesbitt died Jan. 15, 2000, at a Nampa hospital. He was born May 4, 1931, to Ralph and Irma Nesbitt.

He graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Ore. and received a bachelor of arts degree from Lewis and Clark College.

Mr. Nesbitt lived for many years in Canoga Park, Calif. where he retired from his career as a real estate appraiser with the county of Los Angeles. He then moved to Carson City in 1983 where he pursued other business interests. In 1995, he moved to Nampa.

He was an avid bowler with two perfect 300 games. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, South Gate Chapter 12 in Portland. He enjoyed fishing, camping and reading and was an enthusiastic baseball player and fan. He was active in a 12-step plan of recovery for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his wife of 20 years, Sandy, of Nampa; son, Greg and wife Lisa, of Murietta, Calif.; daughters, Laurie Nesbitt, of Eugene, Ore., Debi and Tom Speldrich of Springfield, Ore. and Tracy Squier and partner, Cory Freeman of Seattle, Wash. and eight grandchildren.

Persons Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
