A graveside inurnment service for William Summerfield, 94, a lifetime resident of Northern Nevada, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.
Mr. Summerfield died January 6, 2000 in Tahoe Pacific Hospital in Sparks.
He was born Feb. 9, 1906, in Hawthorne to Abe and Gertie Benson Summerfield.
He served in the South Pacific during World War II as a member of the Army Air Force, and worked as a custodian for the Nevada Department of Transportation. He enjoyed playing cards.
Mr. Summerfield was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include nephew Ross Morres of Fairfax, Va.; niece Verna Morres of Glendale, Calif.; and several other nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
