Virginia City to host annual Fourth of July parade

Virginia City will hold its annual parade and barbecue on the Fourth of July.

The parade, which features many military entries, assembles at noon at the Fourth Ward School and marches down C Street at 1 p.m. Entries are being accepted and entry forms are available from the Virginia City Chamber of Commerce. Lorraine Du Fresne is the parade coordinator.

The barbecue will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Miners Park. Hamburgers or hot dogs with salad and barbecue beans are just $5 per person. The barbecue is hosted by the Virginia City Boosters, Kate Swafford and Margy Rosso. Proceeds benefit Virginia City High School Class of 2001.
