Obituary: Gertrude Elizabeth Labrant

Gertrude Elizabeth Labrant, 90, a Carson City resident for the past nine months, died July 19, 2001, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born May 19, 1911 in Osage, Mo., to Christopher and Emma Hamilton Baker.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Versailles, Mo.

Mrs. Labrant once owned a retail sales business. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Kansas, Mo. and a past member of the Rolling Hills Country Club in Versailles. She was a Methodist and a past member of the Methodist Church in Versailles. She once won the Grand Showcase on the "Price Is Right" TV game show. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Estel Featherstone in 1962 and son Harry Estel Jr. in 1978.

Among her survivors is granddaughter Tina Featherstone-Slobe, of Carson City.

A memorial service will be held in Versailles followed by a graveside service in Kansas, Mo., at Newcomer and Sons Floral Hill Memorial Gardens.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
