Obituary: Manuel J. Hartor

A memorial service for Manuel J. Hartor, 88, a Fallon resident for more than 50 years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church in Fallon.

Mr. Hartor died April 5 at Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon. He was born June 12, 1914, in Alberta, Canada, to Ralph Hartor and Angel Boullet Hartor.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elenor Hartor; and son, Wayne Hartor.

Mr. Hartor had a long career with the Southern Pacific Railroad. During World War II, he was general foreman in charge of Northern Nevada. After retiring from the railroad, he became a rancher and worked for Kents Supply and Meek's Lumber Co.

Among his survivors are his wife, Margie of Fallon; daughter, Jennie Wilkins of Carson City; stepdaughter Cathy Escoffier and stepson Bob Adams, both of Elko; sisters Gladys Brannin of Carson City and Delores Kennedy of Danville, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry's Crematory.

The family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1281 Terminal Way, Suite 111, Reno, NV 89502.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home of Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
