Obituary: Helen Tresnit

A memorial service for Helen Tresnit, a Carson City resident, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Tresnit died Jan. 13, 2003, in Carson City. She was born in Joliet, Ill., to Austrian immigrants Dan and Mary Tesla DeJanovich.

She lived in Moscow, Idaho, for many years.

Mrs. Tresnit worked in the infirmary at the University of Idaho then at the Carson City Nugget before her retirement. She was a member of the Good Neighbors and the Mary McCarthy clubs in Moscow. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1952; daughter Mildred in 1931, six brothers, and one sister.

Among her survivors are her daughter Mary Ann Rodgers of Carson City; sons Milan and Robert Tresnit, both of Carson City; grandchildren Debbie Helseth, Morey Tresnit and Milani McKinley, all of Carson City, Joe Tresnit of Las Vegas and Travis Tresnit of Chicago; sisters Mildred DeJanovich of Spokane, Wash., and Nina O'Neill of Kellogg, Idaho; and great-grandchildren Alissa, Marcella and Erica Watson, all of Carson City.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
