Alvin Marion Camp

A funeral for Alvin Marion Camp, 80, a Carson City resident for the past 13 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carson City Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 411 N. Saliman Road.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Camp died April 24, 2004, in Carson City. He was born July 27, 1923, in Malad City, Idaho, to Alvin Morse and Margaret Pierce Camp.

He attended high school in Malad City.

He married Bertha Wilson on Sept. 27, 1947, in Malad City. She preceded him in death in 1988 in Salem, Ore.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Salem.

Mr. Camp was a cement finisher in construction work. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a sergeant. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3726.

Among his survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law William G. and Donna of Winter Springs, Fla.; and Alvin M. and Pennie of Carson City; son, Marlo P. Camp of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Valli LaRue and Stan McCown of Seattle; sisters and brothers-in-laws Carma and Ed Morgan of Moscow, Idaho, and LaRue and Ray Jones of North Ogden, Utah; sister Melba Hedstrom of Las Vegas; brother and sister-in-law, William P. and Marilyn of Smithfield, Utah; grandchildren Amy L. Garland, Marlo R. Camp and Julie Camp; and great-grandchildren Kasey P. Camp, Micah S. Camp and Khayman K. Garland.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
