Bank robbed in downtown Carson

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a man who robbed a downtown Carson City bank Friday morning.

Carson City authorities are seeking the man who entered the 1st National Bank of Nevada, 1101 N. Carson St., at 9:35 a.m.

According to the Carson City Sheriff's Department, the robber entered the bank carrying an envelope and demanded money from a teller.

He then left the bank through the west door and walked north along Carson Street.

The amount taken in the robbery was not revealed.

The man was described as a white male adult wearing jeans, a plaid shirt, glasses and a white baseball cap.

Deputies arrived at the bank shortly after the robbery and searched for the man but could not find him.

The bank, at the intersection of Carson and William streets, was closed while investigators searched for evidence.
